"O Lar das Crianças Peculiares" (Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children) é um filme estadunidense de 2016 do gênero fantasia/aventura dirigido por Tim Burton e estrelado por Eva Green, Asa Butterfield, Ella Purnell, Samuel L. Jackson, Terence Stamp, Chris O'Dowd, Judi Dench, Lauren McCrostie, Finlay MacMillan, Cameron King, Pixie Davies, Georgia Pemberton, Milo Parker, Raffiella Chapman, Hayden Keeler-Stone, Joseph Odwell, Thomas Odwell e Louis Davison. É baseado no livro "O Orfanato da Srta. Peregrine para Crianças Peculiares", escrito por Ransom Riggs.

Depois de uma tragédia familiar, o jovem Jacob Portman (Butterfield), de 16 anos, parte com seu pai, Franklin (O'Dowd), para a ilha de Cairnholm, no País de Gales, onde, de acordo com Abe (Stamp), avô de Jacob e pai de Franklin, há um lar cheio de crianças com habilidades e características extraordinárias, que é comandado pela rigorosa Alma LeFay Peregrine (Green), que as protege de perigos como os etéreos e acólitos, liderados pelo aterrorizante Sr. Barron (Jackson).

Ok, primeiro: Tim Burton é um diretor que nunca me decepcionou com seus filmes, assim como Ransom Riggs, escritor da saga que deu origem ao filme, nunca me decepcionou com seus livros.
E esse é o filme que eu estava mais esperando para esse ano. E valeu muito a pena a espera!
O filme é fantástico. Com viagem no tempo, momentos assustadores, uma fotografia de tirar o fôlego, uma trilha sonora muito bem escolhida, um figurino fantástico, efeitos visuais práticos e especiais, e atuações incríveis de todo o elenco (especialmente as da Eva Green como a Srta. Peregrine e do Samuel L. Jackson como o Sr. Barron), "O Lar das Crianças Peculiares" é na minha opinião, o melhor filme do ano, e o terceiro melhor filme do Tim Burton, atrás de "Edward Mãos-de-Tesoura" e "Sweeney Todd".
Mas, como qualquer adaptação, o filme possui algumas diferenças em relação ao livro, mas o Tim, junto com a roteirista Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass, Kingsman: Serviço Secreto), juntam as peças para criar uma experiência cinematográfica única, que é o retorno triunfante de Burton ao gênero gótico!!!
Amei!!! Simplesmente maravilhoso e visualmente deslumbrante!! Ultra-mega recomendo!!!!

Ok, first of all: Tim Burton is a director that has never let me down with any of his movies, and Ransom Riggs, writer of the saga that inspired this movie, has never let me down with any of his books. And this is the movie I was most excited for this year. And, let me tell you, it was very worth the wait!!!
The movie is fantastic. With time travel, scary moments, breathtaking cinematography, a well-chosen soundtrack, fantastic costume design, special and practical visual effects, and amazing performances from all the cast (particularly Eva Green's Miss Peregrine and Samuel L. Jackson's Mr. Barron), "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" is, in my opinion, the best movie of the year, and the third greatest Tim Burton film, behind "Edward Scissorhands" and "Sweeney Todd".
But, as an adaptation, the movie has its differences from the source material, but Tim, along with screenwriter Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass, Kingsman: The Secret Service), puts together the pieces of this one-of-a-kind movie experience, which is Burton's triumphant return to the gothic-dark fantasy genre!!!
I loved it!!! A wonderful and visually dazzling film!!! I highly recommend it, A LOT!!!!
