O filme é maravilhoso. Adicionando novos personagens e informações à saga de ficção-científica mais famosa da história, esse spin-off expande o universo Star Wars de uma forma grandiosa, satisfazendo os fãs vorazes da saga que desejam saber o que aconteceu entre o fim da saga de prequels e o início da saga original.
Com uma fotografia e cenários fantásticos, e uma direção mais que ótima de Gareth Edwards, um fã declarado da saga, Rogue One é o filme mais sangrento, violento, sombrio e tenso da saga Star Wars até agora! E para os que estão se perguntando se é melhor do que o espetacular episódio VII (O Despertar da Força), eu posso dizer, sim. É melhor, pelo tom do filme, pelas inúmeras referências aos outros capítulos da saga, e pelas aparições, mesmo que breves, de personagens que fizeram dessa saga um ícone! E olha que, mesmo sem lutas de sabres de luz e sem opening crawl, o filme consegue entreter, sendo um dos únicos filmes que faz jus ao nome "Guerra nas Estrelas".
Para mim, é o melhor blockbuster do ano, e um dos melhores filmes da saga Star Wars, porém, não o melhor filme do ano.
Amei!!! Totalmente recomendo para os fãs veteranos e os iniciantes da Saga Star Wars!!!

The movie is wonderful. Adding new characters and information to the most famous sci-fi saga in history, this spin-off expands the Star Wars universe in a great way, satisfying the saga's hungry fans who want to know what happened between the end of the prequel saga and the beginning of the original saga.
With amazing cinematography and sets, and some more than great direction from Gareth Edwards, a declared fan of the saga, Rogue One is the bloodiest, most tense, most violent and darkest film of the Star Wars saga to the date! And to those who are asking if Rogue One is better than the spectacular Episode VII (The Force Awakens), I can say, yes. It is better, because of the tone, the endless references to the other chapters of the saga, and the cameos, even brief ones, from the characters that made this saga iconic! And, even without lightsaber fights or an opening crawl, this movie can entertain, being one of the only movies that actually have "Star Wars".
In my opinion, it is the best blockbuster of the year and one of the best Star Wars movies, but not the best movie of the year.
I loved it!!! I totally recommend it to the veteran and beginner fans of Star Wars!!!

Não, "A Chegada" é bem mais profundo e complexo do que isso. É um filme que escapa dos clichês de todo filme de ficção-científica que possui alienígenas que "invadem" a Terra.
Acho que pode-se dizer que é uma mistura cult de "Contatos Imediatos de Terceiro Grau" (por causa do primeiro contato dos humanos e alienígenas) e "Donnie Darko" (vejam o filme e saberão o por quê).
Mas, se você for uma pessoa mais acostumada a blockbusters e filmes de super-heróis, você vai precisar ver esse filme umas 2 vezes para entender o contexto. É um pouquinho difícil de entender, eu confesso, até eu tive dificuldades em entender o final do filme, mas deem ao filme uma chance que, eu juro, vocês não vão se arrepender!!
Um espetáculo visual e cheio de atuações brilhantes, "A Chegada" é um certo indicado às principais categorias nas premiações de 2017!!!

With a smart story and plot, breathtaking cinematography, and award-worthy performances from Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner, "Arrival" is one of the best movies of the year, if not the best one!! But if you're thinking that this is one of those sci-fi movies where aliens have ray-guns and start wiping out mankind, you'd better get that idea off your head. No, "Arrival" is way deeper and more complex than that. It's a movie that escapes the cliches of every sci-fi movie where aliens "invade" Earth.
I think it can be said that it's a cult mixture of "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" (because of the encounter between humans and aliens) and "Donnie Darko" (see the movie and you'll see why).
But, if you are more used to blockbusters and superhero movies, it will take you 2 times to understand the context of the film. It's a little hard to understand, I'll admit, I had some difficulties in understanding the ending, but give it a chance, and, I swear, you won't regret it!
A visual spectacle, and filled with brilliant performances, "Arrival" is a certain nominee in the main categories in next year's awards race!!

Nova York, 1926. O magizoologista britânico Newt Scamander (Redmayne) chega à cidade de barco com uma maleta cheia de criaturas fantásticas, com o objetivo de obter mais delas para escrever seu primeiro livro. Acidentalmente, ele tem sua maleta trocada, e alguns animais escaparam dela, aterrorizando os não-majs (trouxas). Com a ajuda de Jacob (Fogler), um aspirante a padeiro que deseja ter sua própria padaria; Porpentina "Tina" Goldstein (Waterston), uma ex-Auror do Congresso Mágico dos Estados Unidos da América (Ministério da Magia); e a irmã de Tina, Queenie (Sudol), que lê mentes, Newt irá tentar resgatar suas criaturas para evitar um iminente desastre.
O filme é, de fato, fantástico. Estive esperando por esse filme desde que ele foi anunciado em 2013.
O próprio livro possui menos de 100 páginas, e fizeram um filme com 2 horas e 13 minutos de duração. Com a própria J.K. Rowling escrevendo o roteiro do filme, ele expande o universo de Harry Potter, introduzindo personagens e termos novos, criando uma série mais voltada para o público adulto, mais séria, com personagens mais adultos e maduros. Mas isso não significa que não é adequado para os fãs menores de Harry Potter.
O filme possui atuações fantásticas do elenco inteiro, com destaque para a atuação excêntrica e ingênua de Redmayne como Scamander e a de Fogler como o desastrado, porém amável Jacob; os efeitos visuais, fotografia e figurino também merecem reconhecimento, sendo um pouquinho mais evoluídos do que os filmes da série Harry Potter, cinco anos depois do último filme (Relíquias da Morte - Parte 2, lançado em 2011).
Um certo candidato a várias categorias técnicas no Oscar 2017, "Animais Fantásticos..." é um dos melhores filmes do ano, e a melhor adaptação cinematográfica de um livro do ano!

The movie is, indeed, fantastic. I've been waiting for this movie since its announcement in 2013. The book has less than 100 pages, and they turned it into a 133-minute movie. Written by J.K. Rowling herself, the movie expands the Harry Potter universe, introducing new characters and terms, creating a more adult, serious, and mature series. But that doesn't mean that it isn't appropriate for younger Potter fans.
The film carries wonderful performances from the entire cast, highlighting Redmayne's eccentric and naive performance as Newt, and Fogler's as the clumsy, yet lovable Jacob; the visual effects, cinematography and costume design also deserve some recognition, being a little more evolved than the Harry Potter films (Deathly Hallows - Part 2 was released 5 years before this one, in 2011).
A certain nominee in various technical categories (Cinematography, Costume Design, Visual Effects) in next year's Oscars, "Fantastic Beasts..." is one of the best movies of the year, and the best book-to-movie adaptation of the year!
I loved it! I highly recommend it to fans and beginners of the Harry Potter saga!!!

Lacie, com uma nota estável de 4.2, vive com seu irmão (Norton), e ela quer se mudar, mas para conseguir uma casa luxuosa, ela precisa ter uma nota de 4.5 ou mais. Ela contata uma antiga amiga (Eve), que revela que irá se casar, e convida Lacie para ser sua dama de honra. "Black Mirror" é uma série única, fantástica, que faz os espectadores pensarem. Esse episódio não é uma exceção. O futuro retratado em "Nosedive" não parece distante, pelo contrário, parece que está bem perto de acontecer na vida real.
A série não é de terror, mas vendo como as realidades retratadas são parecidas com as de atualmente, ela nos dá arrepios e nos assusta até o núcleo, mexendo com o nosso cérebro, fazendo-nos pensar sobre o futuro.
Agora, sobre o episódio. Ele tem um visual incrível, com tons pastel, e cores que se encaixam ao longo de sua 1 hora de duração.
A atuação de Bryce Dallas Howard como a protagonista Lacie Pound é muito boa, sendo uma das melhores atuações de sua carreira, e sua personagem evolui muito ao longo do episódio, de uma maneira simplesmente estrondosa e fantástica.
Às vezes, o enredo parece repetitivo, mas nada que nos faça cansar de ver o resto do episódio.
Adorei o episódio! Um dos melhores da série! Nota 10!!

Lacie, with an approval rating of 4.2, lives with her brother (Norton), and wants to move out, but, in order to get a fancy house, she's got to have a rating of 4.5 or more. She contacts an old friend (Eve), who is getting married soon, and Lacie is invited to be her maid of honor. People with extremely high ratings will be at the wedding, leading Lacie to write an emotional script capable of making people rate her 5 stars. But at the moment she leaves her house to go to the airport, everything goes wrong.
"Black Mirror" is a fantastic, unique TV show, that leaves viewers thinking after the end of an episode. This one is no exception. The future shown in "Nosedive" is not distant, actually, it looks pretty close to real life.
It is not a horror TV show, but seeing how the realities shown in the show really look like real life, it gives us the creeps, and scares us to our core, messing with our brain, and making us think about the future.
Now, about the episode. It has amazing visuals, with pastel colors that fit throughout its one-hour running time.
Bryce Dallas Howard's acting as protagonist Lacie Pound is very good, delivering one of the best performances of her career, and the character kind of grows up in a fantastically astounding way throughout the episode.
Sometimes, the plot may seem repetitive, but nothing that makes us stop watching the rest of the episode.
I loved the episode! One of the best of the series by far! Highly recommend it to you guys!!!

Ok, primeiro: Tim Burton é um diretor que nunca me decepcionou com seus filmes, assim como Ransom Riggs, escritor da saga que deu origem ao filme, nunca me decepcionou com seus livros.
E esse é o filme que eu estava mais esperando para esse ano. E valeu muito a pena a espera!
O filme é fantástico. Com viagem no tempo, momentos assustadores, uma fotografia de tirar o fôlego, uma trilha sonora muito bem escolhida, um figurino fantástico, efeitos visuais práticos e especiais, e atuações incríveis de todo o elenco (especialmente as da Eva Green como a Srta. Peregrine e do Samuel L. Jackson como o Sr. Barron), "O Lar das Crianças Peculiares" é na minha opinião, o melhor filme do ano, e o terceiro melhor filme do Tim Burton, atrás de "Edward Mãos-de-Tesoura" e "Sweeney Todd".
Mas, como qualquer adaptação, o filme possui algumas diferenças em relação ao livro, mas o Tim, junto com a roteirista Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass, Kingsman: Serviço Secreto), juntam as peças para criar uma experiência cinematográfica única, que é o retorno triunfante de Burton ao gênero gótico!!!
Amei!!! Simplesmente maravilhoso e visualmente deslumbrante!! Ultra-mega recomendo!!!!

Jackson's Mr. Barron), "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" is, in my opinion, the best movie of the year, and the third greatest Tim Burton film, behind "Edward Scissorhands" and "Sweeney Todd".
But, as an adaptation, the movie has its differences from the source material, but Tim, along with screenwriter Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass, Kingsman: The Secret Service), puts together the pieces of this one-of-a-kind movie experience, which is Burton's triumphant return to the gothic-dark fantasy genre!!!
I loved it!!! A wonderful and visually dazzling film!!! I highly recommend it, A LOT!!!!

Mas o filme não é para todo mundo. O humor no filme é para os que gostam do programa "Saturday Night Live", o qual a trupe participa até agora.
Eu recomendo muito esse filme para os meus leitores que são maiores de 16 anos, pois esse filme é inapropriado para pessoas menores, por causa de uma quantidade enorme de palavrões, e um pouco de nudez.

But the movie isn't for everyone. The humor in it is for the ones who like "Saturday Night Live", a TV show that the troupe participates.
I really recommend this movie to my readers who are above 16 years old, because it has a lot of profanity, and a bit of nudity.

Se tem uma saga de livros que eu estou adorando ler é a Saga O Lar da Srta. Peregrine para Crianças Peculiares, escrita por Ransom Riggs e publicada pelas Editoras LeYa e Intrínseca. Então vou postar aqui o que eu acho dos livros, e o essencial para entender a adaptação cinematográfica do primeiro livro, chamada "O Lar das Crianças Peculiares", prevista para 29 de setembro e dirigida por Tim Burton.)
Peculiar. Alguns podem rotular essa palavra como algo estranho, esquisito e fora do normal. Mas esse não é o sentido da palavra que Ransom Riggs, autor da saga "O Lar da Srta. Peregrine para Crianças Peculiares", quer expor.
Em seus 3 livros (O Orfanato da Srta. Peregrine para Crianças Peculiares; Cidade dos Etéreos; Biblioteca de Almas), a saga se concentra em Jacob Portman, que será interpretado por Asa Butterfield no filme), um jovem de 16 anos, e o narrador-personagem da saga que, depois de uma tragédia familiar, viaja para uma ilha no País de Gales chamada Cairnholm, onde, de acordo com seu avô Abe, que será interpretado por Terence Stamp no filme, há um lar cheio de crianças com habilidades extraordinárias, que é comandado pela rigorosa Alma LeFay Peregrine. que será interpretada por Eva Green no filme.
Ouvi falar desses livros quando vi na internet que Tim Burton, meu diretor favorito de todos os tempos (empatado com Wes Anderson), ia dirigir a adaptação cinematográfica, e quando eu vi a capa do primeiro livro pela primeira vez, pensei imediatamente que era um livro de terror, pois era uma coisa que não se vê nesses dias: uma garotinha flutuando. Mas quando finalmente tive a chance de ler os livros, eu comecei a ler e não parei até terminar.
Com uma prosa fantástica e fotografias antigas sinistras (incluindo uma garota que controla o fogo, um garoto que comanda e protege as abelhas que vivem em seu estômago, uma garota que possui um enorme buraco em seu tórax, e muito mais), Riggs consegue juntar uma história mais que interessante, com personagens os quais os leitores podem se relacionar e se identificar, e uma atmosfera sombria, bem parecido com o estilo do Tim Burton, mesmo.
As continuações, "Cidade dos Etéreos" e "Biblioteca de Almas" conseguem construir uma tensão emocionante e um final épico para uma saga espetacular, respectivamente, com novos personagens, novos vilões, e reviravoltas eletrizantes que não vão deixar o leitor parar de ler. (Foi o que aconteceu comigo!)
Com termos de ficção-científica como viagem no tempo e "time loop" (evento no espaço e tempo que se repete inúmeras vezes), personagens super-interessantes, e fotografias vintage capazes de causarem calafrios ao leitor, Riggs ensina para seus leitores que eles deviam aceitar o que faz eles únicos e terem orgulho disso.
A saga "O Lar da Srta. Peregrine para Crianças Peculiares" é uma obra-prima infanto-juvenil, que até os adultos acharão a leitura bem prazerosa!!
Bom, agora que falei dos livros, vamos para uma aulinha rápida de termos do mundo peculiar de Ransom Riggs, para vocês, meus leitores, entenderem o filme "O Lar das Crianças Peculiares", previsto para 29 de setembro! Para quem não viu o trailer, aí está:
PECULIARES ou SYNDRIGAST: são seres que possuem habilidades únicas. Eles vivem em fendas temporais, para protegê-los da sociedade não-peculiar, que pode julgá-los como estranhos e de criaturas malignas, que possuem o objetivo de matá-las. Peculiares geralmente não nascem de pais peculiares, pois as habilidades peculiares, geralmente, pulam uma geração.
COERLFOLC: é a geração pulada pelas habilidades peculiares. São pessoas "normais", que não possuem características extraordinárias que fazem elas peculiares. Um exemplo claro disso é o caso dos pais de Jacob, Franklin e Maryann.
YMBRYNE: peculiar que tem a habilidade de manipular as fendas temporais. Também possuem a habilidade de se transformarem em um tipo de pássaro. Seu objetivo é proteger seus encarregados peculiares do mundo humano e de criaturas como acólitos e etéreos. Um exemplo é a própria Srta. Peregrine, que controla uma fenda temporal (O lar dela) e se transforma em um pássaro (falcão-peregrino).
ETÉREOS E ACÓLITOS: tanto etéreos quanto acólitos são ex-peculiares que, por causa de um experimento que falhou, buscando a imortalidade, se tornaram seres que se alimentam de almas de peculiares. Os etéreos são seres aterrorizantes com dentes afiados e múltiplas línguas, já os acólitos são etéreos evoluídos que tomam a forma humana, assim, eles se infiltram na sociedade (a única coisa que faz eles diferentes dos humanos é que eles possuem olhos completamente opacos), e caçam peculiares para alimentarem suas almas aos etéreos.
FENDAS TEMPORAIS: eventos no tempo e espaço que se repetem múltiplas vezes, com o auxílio das ymbrynes. O dia se reinicia, mas a ação dos peculiares dentro da fenda é contínua. Uma fenda interrompe o envelhecimento dos peculiares que vivem nela. Cada dia passado na fenda é uma dívida acumulada, que se os peculiares ficarem fora da fenda por muito tempo, resultará em um envelhecimento rápido e pavoroso. Um exemplo seria o Lar da Srta. Peregrine, localizado em Cairnholm, em 3 de setembro de 1940.

If there is a book series that I'm loving to read in recent times, it's the Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children series, written by Ransom Riggs, and published by Quirk Books. So I'll post here what I think about the books, and some essential things that you'd like to know in order to understand the movie adaptation of the first book, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, which will hit the big screens this month and will be directed by Tim Burton.)
Peculiar. Some may label this word as something that's strange, weird or abnormal. But that's not the sense of the word that Ransom Riggs, author of the Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children saga, wants to expose.
In its 3 books (Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children; Hollow City; Library of Souls), the series focuses on Jacob Portman, who will be portrayed by Asa Butterfield in the movie, a 16-year-old young man, and the narrator of the saga, who, after a family tragedy, travels to a small island in Wales named Cairnholm, where, according to his grandfather Abe, who will be portrayed by Terence Stamp in the movie, there is a home filled with children with extraordinary abilities, headed by the strict Alma LeFay Peregrine, who will be portrayed by Eva Green in the movie.
I heard about these books when I saw on the Internet that Tim Burton, my favorite director of all time (along with Wes Anderson), was chosen to direct the movie adaptation, and when I saw the cover of the first book for the first time, I thought immediately that it was a horror book, because it showed something that it isn't very normal to see these days: a little girl floating in mid-air. But when I finally got the chance to read it, I started reading it, and didn't stop until I finished it.
With such a fantastic prose and sinister antique photographs (including a girl that controls fire, a boy that commands and protects the bees that live in his stomach, a girl with a huge hole in her chest, and many more), Riggs puts together a more than interesting story, with characters that the readers can relate to and maybe even identify themselves with them, and a dark atmosphere, which makes it pretty Burtonesque.
The sequels, "Hollow City" and "Library of Souls" build a thrilling tension and deliver an epic ending, respectively, introducing new characters and villains, along with electrifying twists that will make the reader keep reading the books until the end. (That's what happened to me!!)
With sci-fi terms, like time travel and time loop (an event in time and space that repeats itself multiple times), super-interesting characters, and goosebump-inducing vintage photos, Riggs teaches his readers that they should accept what makes them unique and be proud of it.
The "Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children" saga is a young-adult masterpiece, that even the adults will find the reading to be very pleasurable!!!!
Okay, now that I've finished the book review, let's go to a quick explanation about terms from Ransom Riggs' Peculiar world, so that you guys, my readers, can understand the movie adaptation, which will hit theaters later this month!!! In case you missed it, here's the trailer:
PECULIARS or SYNDRIGAST: beings that have unique and extraordinary abilities. They live in time loops, which protect them from humans, that can judge them as weird or strange, and evil creatures, that want to kill them. Peculiars mostly aren't born to peculiar parents, as the peculiar abilities mostly skip a whole generation.
COERLFOLC: the generation skipped by the peculiar abilities. They are "normal" people, that don't have extraordinary abilities. A clear example is the case of Jacob's parents, Franklin and Maryann.
YMBRYNE: peculiars who have the power to manipulate time loops. They also have the ability to turn into a bird. Their objective is to protect their charges from the human world and from creatures like wights and hollowgasts. An example is Miss Peregrine herself, who controls her time loop (Miss P.'s Home) and turns into a bird (peregrine falcon).
HOLLOWGASTS AND WIGHTS: both hollowgasts (or hollows) and wights are former peculiars whom, after a failed experiment which they searched for immortality, turn into beings that feed on peculiar souls. Hollowgasts are beings that have sharped teeth and multiple tongues, and the wights are evolved hollowgasts who take the human form, so they can infiltrate in the human society (the only thing that makes them different from humans is that they have blank eyes), and search for peculiars to feed their souls to hollowgasts.
TIME LOOPS: events in time and space which are repeated multiple times, with the help of the ymbrynes. The day resets, but the actions made by the peculiars is continuous. A loop interrupts the aging of the peculiars who live in it. Each day passed on the loop is an accumulated debt, which will result in a horrendous, rapid aging, if the peculiars stay out of the loop for a very long time. An example is the Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, located in Cairnholm, on September 3rd, 1940.
