Enquanto eles procuram por segredos sobre sua família, Olaf persegue-os, disfarçado, para obter a enorme fortuna deixada para as crianças.

O filme de 2004, "Desventuras em Série", marcou minha infância. A atuação de Jim Carrey como Conde Olaf foi maravilhosa, assim como a dos atores mirins que interpretaram os órfãos Baudelaire. Quando esta série foi anunciada, botei muita fé nela, por sua história criativa, e então, li os livros em que a primeira temporada se baseia, e então, esperei. E valeu muito a pena.
Posso dizer que essa série é uma das melhores que a Netflix já fez nos últimos tempos, pois possui uma ótima produção, uma paleta de cores variada, e às vezes, sombria, fotografia, maquiagem, figurino e design de produção impecáveis e grandes atuações do elenco inteiro, com destaque para a atuação mais dark de Neil Patrick Harris como o vilão Conde Olaf, que equilibra, perfeitamente, os diálogos com humor e suspense, a atuação melancólica e irônica de Patrick Warburton como o narrador Lemony Snicket, com seus diálogos deprimentes, que, com propósito cômico, nos tentam a deixar de assistir ao programa, mas na verdade, nos inspiram a ir até o fim, e as atuações de Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes e Presley Smith, que dão um show como os 3 órfãos desafortunados que vivem as desventuras em série que estão no título.
Sendo mais fiel ao material original e um pouco mais sombrio do que o filme de 2004, "Lemony Snicket - Desventuras em Série" é tudo que o filme poderia ser, e ainda mais.
Amei essa série e estou esperando ansiosamente pela já confirmada segunda temporada!!! Totalmente recomendo para todos vocês!!

The 2004 movie, "A Series Of Unfortunate Events", marked my childhood. Jim Carrey's acting as Count Olaf was wonderful, as were the child actors' who portrayed the Baudelaire orphans.
When this show was announced, I put a lot of faith on it, because of its creative story, and so, I read the books which the first season is based on, and then, I waited. And it was worth the wait.
I can say that this is one of the best shows that Netflix has ever made, because of its good production, the varied and sometimes dark color palette, flawless cinematography, makeup, costume and production designs, and superb performances from the entire cast, especially the darker performance from Neil Patrick Harris as villain Count Olaf, who balances, perfectly, the funny and darker dialogues, the melancholic and ironic performance from Patrick Warburton as narrator Lemony Snicket, with his depressing dialogues, which, for comical purposes, attempt to make us stop watching the show, but instead, makes us want to watch it all through the end, and the child actors' performances who play the Baudelaire children (Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes and Presley Smith), who own the show as the 3 unlucky orphans who live the unfortunate events in the title of the series.
Being more faithful to the source material and darker than the 2004 movie, "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" is everything the film should've been, and even more.
I loved this show and I am eagerly waiting for the already confirmed second season!!! I highly recommend it to all of you!!!

Com performances fantásticas do elenco mirim, um roteiro incrível do diretor John Carney, várias referências à cultura da década de 1980, principalmente às canções que fizeram sucesso na época, uma trilha sonora criativa, composta por Duran Duran, The Cure e Hall & Oates, e músicas originais dançantes e memoráveis, Sing Street é um filme para se sentir bem com a vida, e que merece ser visto.
Indicado a 1 Globo de Ouro (Melhor Filme - Comédia ou Musical), "Sing Street" é um musical original com uma trilha sonora estupenda, que possui um enorme potencial de se tornar um clássico no futuro!!
Amei esse filme!!! Ultra recomendo esse filme para vocês!!! Vejam na Netflix!!!

With fantastic performances from the child actors, an amazing script from director John Carney, several references to culture from the 80s, mainly to the songs that were hits back then, a creative soundtrack, composed by Duran Duran, The Cure and Hall & Oates, and memorable and dance-inducing original songs, Sing Street is a movie that makes us feel good about life, and that deserves to be seen.

Nominated for 1 Golden Globe (Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy), Sing Street is an original musical with a great soundtrack, which has a huge potential to become a classic in the near future!!!!

I loved it so much!!! I strongly recommend it to you guys!!! Watch it on Netflix!!!

Hank Thompson (Dano) é um homem que está preso numa ilha deserta, e quando está prestes a cometer suicídio, ele encontra um cadáver (Radcliffe) na praia da ilha. Não demora para ele descobrir que o cadáver, que se chama Manny, possui habilidades especiais. Assim, Manny tenta ajudar Hank a voltar para casa, influenciado por uma mulher bonita no telefone de Hank (Winstead).

Quando ouvi falar desse filme, como a maioria, achei-o realmente bizarro. Mas quando pude ver o resultado final, eu adorei. É surreal, é claro, mas é isso o que faz o filme brilhante. É muito mais do que um monte de piadas baratas sobre puns, é uma jornada filosófica de auto-descobrimento, junto com um monte de humor, e atuações fantásticas de Paul Dano e Daniel Radcliffe, que possuem uma química impressionante, e provavelmente algumas das melhores performances deles. É bem difícil fazer um filme com poucos protagonistas, e funcionar, com efeito, mas, com sorte, os diretores do filme conseguiram fazer isso com Um Cadáver para Sobreviver.
O filme possui uma edição e produção de design incríveis, que realmente, é o que a dupla DANIELS faz de melhor, pelo videoclipe da música "Turn Down For What". O roteiro escrito pela dupla é totalmente original, sem pegar emprestado de qualquer outro filme, apresentando uma amizade improvável e, ao mesmo tempo, uma história de amor.
Mas os destaques de Swiss Army Man (o nome original do filme) são, na verdade, a fotografia e a trilha sonora original. A fotografia possui uma paleta de cores naturais, e a trilha sonora possui performances vocais dos dois protagonistas, o que faz dela ainda mais incrível!
Não fiquem estranhados pela sinopse do filme, deem uma chance a ele, garanto que vocês vão gostar muito!!!

So, Manny tries to help Hank, in order to bring him home, influenced by a beautiful woman in Hank's cellphone (Winstead).

When I heard about this film, as most people, I found it to be bizarre. But when I got the chance to watch the final result, I thought it was great! It's surreal, obviously, but that's what makes the movie brilliant. It is so much more than a bunch of cheap jokes about farts, it is a philosophical journey about self-discovery, along with lots of humor and fantastic performances from Paul Dano and Daniel Radcliffe, with an impressive chemistry between them, and probably some of the best performances from the two. It's pretty hard to make a movie with a small number of protagonists, but the directors made it work, effectively, with Swiss Army Man.
The movie has some incredible editing and production design, which is what the duo DANIELS does best, because of the music video for "Turn Down for What". The script written by the two directors is totally original, without borrowing from anything, introducing an unlikely friendship, and, at the same time, a love story.
But the highlights of Swiss Army Man are, actually, the cinematography and the original soundtrack. The film has a natural color palette, and the soundtrack has vocal performances from the two protagonists, which makes it even more awesome!
Do not get alienated by the movie's plot, give it a chance, and I guarantee that you will really like it!!
I loved it!! I strongly recommend it to you guys!!!

O Guillermo del Toro, para mim, é um dos melhores diretores da atualidade, e adoro tudo que ele já fez. Essa série não é nenhuma exceção. Ela possui um visual fantástico, com cores vibrantes, uma história interessante e um elenco super talentoso. É uma série muito viciante, porque o final de cada episódio possui uma deixa para o próximo que não te deixa parar de ver, e o último episódio deixa uma abertura enorme para a segunda temporada, a qual eu espero que seja produzida. É uma série direcionada para todas as idades, pois as crianças adorarão o visual e o estilo de animação da série, tanto que é produzida pela DreamWorks, responsável por Madagascar e Shrek, os adolescentes se relacionarão com os personagens da série, como eles tem entre 15-16 anos de idade, e os adultos e idosos se interessarão pela história, e se eles já forem fãs de outras obras do diretor, irão se divertir ainda mais.
Sendo definitivamente uma das melhores séries que eu vi em 2016, podemos dizer que Caçadores de Trolls é uma maneira fantástica de introduzir os pequenos ao trabalho de Guillermo del Toro, até elas alcançarem uma maior idade, para poderem assistir às obras-primas do diretor, como O Labirinto do Fauno, A Colina Escarlate e A Espinha do Diabo!!

Guillermo del Toro, in my opinion, is one of the best directors of our time, and I love everything he has ever done. This series is no exception. It has fantastic visuals, with vibrant colors, an interesting plot, and a super-talented cast. It is a very addictive show, because the end of every episode leaves a cliffhanger that doesn't let you stop watching, and the end of the last episode leaves a HUGE opening for a second season, which I hope it gets produced. It is a series for all ages, because the kids will love the visuals and animation of the show, as it's produced by DreamWorks (Madagascar, Shrek), the teens will identify themselves with the characters, as they are 15 and 16 years old, and the adults and elders will find the story to be interesting, and if they are already fans of the director's work, they will have even more fun.
Definitely one of the best TV shows of 2016, let's say that Trollhunters is a fantastic way to introduce the little ones to Guillermo del Toro's work, until they're old enough to watch the director's masterpieces, like Pan's Labyrinth, Crimson Peak and The Devil's Backbone!!!
I loved it so much!! I strongly recommend it to you guys!!!

Oi, pessoal! Vou escrever aqui os filmes e séries que, na minha opinião, tiveram um destaque em 2016 e os que eu estou com a maior expectativa para 2017, em nenhuma ordem em particular. Então aqui vamos nós:
(Hey, guys! I will write here the movies and TV shows that, in my opinion, deserve some highlighting because of 2016 and the ones I'm most expecting for 2017, in no order whatsoever. So here we go:)

- A Chegada, dirigido por Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, directed by Denis Villeneuve)
Esse filme de ficção científica me impressionou de tal maneira, que ele precisava estar nessa lista. O diretor Denis Villeneuve (Sicario) e o roteirista Eric Heisserer investiram em uma história de ficção-científica repleta de mistério e drama, com uma reviravolta no final que te faz repensar o filme inteiro. Tudo isso junto com atuações fortes e dignas de prêmios de Amy Adams e Jeremy Renner. Com certeza um dos melhores filmes do ano!
(This sci-fi movie surprised me in such a way, that it needed to be on this list. Director Denis Villeneuve (Sicario) and screenwriter Eric Heisserer invested in a sci-fi story filled with mystery and drama, with a twist ending that makes you rethink the entire movie. All of that along with strong award-worthy performances from Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner. Surely one of the year's best!!!)

- Rua Cloverfield, 10, dirigido por Dan Tratchtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane, directed by Dan Tratchtenberg)
Uma das maiores surpresas do ano, "Rua Cloverfield, 10" foi filmado em segredo, com o trailer sendo lançado 2 meses antes do lançamento do filme, que lançou em Março. O filme conta, praticamente, com 3 atores no elenco (Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman e John Gallagher, Jr.), e, como é ambientado, em sua maioria, em um lugar fechado, chega a ficar claustrofóbico de tão tenso que o filme fica. Dirigido por Dan Tratchtenberg, e escrito por Josh Campbell, Matt Stuecken e Damien Chazelle, "Rua Cloverfield, 10" é uma das mais tensas peças de suspense que eu já vi, e um filme impressionantemente divertido!!! Eu altamente recomendo!!
(One of the biggest surprises of the year, 10 Cloverfield Lane was secretly filmed, with the trailer being released 2 months before the movie's release, in March. The movie is composed, basically, by 3 actors (Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman e John Gallagher, Jr.), and, as it's placed in a locked place, it is so tense, it gets claustrophobic. Directed by Dan Tratchtenberg, and written by Josh Campbell, Matt Stuecken and Damien Chazelle, 10 Cloverfield Lane is one of the most tense pieces of thrillers I've ever seen, and it is surprisingly entertaining!!! I highly recommend it!!)

- Deadpool, dirigido por Tim Miller (Deadpool, directed by Tim Miller)

Um dos filmes mais antecipados de 2016, Deadpool é a total redenção de Ryan Reynolds em filmes de super-heróis depois de uma versão não esperada do personagem em X-Men Origens: Wolverine e o fracasso de Lanterna Verde. O filme apresenta o personagem da maneira perfeita: com violência explícita, palavrões e cenas de sexo. Com um roteiro original dos mesmos roteiristas de Zumbilândia, Deadpool zoa com os filmes de super-heróis, e faz referências aos filmes de super-heróis que Reynolds participou antes desse, de uma maneira totalmente hilária. É um filme de super-heróis diferente, e é por isso que eu declaro ele, o melhor filme de super-heróis do ano. Adorei!! Super recomendo para os fãs do anti-herói!!

(One of the most anticipated films of 2016, Deadpool is the ultimate redemption of Ryan Reynolds in superhero movies, after a not expected version of the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Green Lantern's failure. The movie introduces the character in the most perfect way: with bloody violence, profanity and sex scenes. With an original script by the same screenwriters from Zombieland, Deadpool makes fun of superhero movies, and makes references to superhero movies that Reynolds was in before this one, in a totally hilarious way. It is a different superhero movie, and that is why I declare him the best superhero movie of the year! I loved it and I highly recommend it to the Deadpool fans out there!!)

Um dos maiores fenômenos de 2016, ninguém esperava muito de Stranger Things, até essa série lançar na Netflix no dia 15 de Julho. Eu já esperava um pouco dela, devido à Winona Ryder e ao segundo trailer, mas quando eu finalmente pude ver o resultado final, achei que é uma das obras mais fantásticas de ficção científica que eu já vi na minha vida. Cheia de mistério, terror, referências aos anos 80 e drama, Stranger Things é uma homenagem aos filmes e livros dos anos 80, principalmente os de Steven Spielberg e os livros de Stephen King, com atuações reveladoras do elenco mirim (Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo e Noah Schnapp), do elenco adolescente (Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton e Joe Keery) e do elenco adulto (Winona Ryder, David Harbour e Matthew Modine)!! Esperando desesperadamente pela segunda temporada em 2017!!! 

(One of the biggest phenomena of 2016, no one expected much of Stranger Things, until this show premiered on Netflix on July 15th. I was excited for it, because of Winona Ryder and the second trailer, but when I finally got to see the final results, I thought that it was one of the most fantastic pieces of sci-fi I've ever seen on my life. Filled with mystery, horror, references to the 80s and drama, Stranger Things is an homage to 80s' movies and books, mainly Spielberg's movies and Stephen King's books, with astounding performances by the child actors (Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo and Noah Schnapp), by the teen actors (Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton and Joe Keery) and the adult actors (Winona Ryder, David Harbour and Matthew Modine)!!! Waiting desperately for season 2 in 2017!!!)

Esse foi o filme que eu estava mais esperando para 2016, por causa que era dirigido pelo Tim Burton, e pelo primeiro trailer. Então, para me antecipar, li o livro em que o filme é baseado, escrito por Ransom Riggs. E o livro, agora é um dos meus favoritos de todos os tempos. Lendo o livro, já tinha percebido algumas diferenças entre o livro e o filme, e vendo o filme, percebi que algumas diferenças funcionaram, outras, nem tanto. Mas, colocando as diferenças de lado, o filme é muito bom, com atuações muito boas de Eva Green, que rouba a cena como a ymbryne Alma Peregrine, e Samuel L. Jackson, que assume um papel cômico e assustador como o vilão Barron, e um visual fantástico e sombrio, típico dos filmes do diretor. Adorei!!! Super recomendo!!

(This was the movie I was most expecting for 2016, because of Tim Burton and the first trailer. So, to be ready, I read the book which the film is based on, written by Ransom Riggs, which is, now, one of my favorite books of all time. Reading it, I noticed some differences between book and movie, and watching it, I noticed that some of these differences worked, others, not so much. But, putting the differences aside, the movie is really good, with very good performances from Eva Green, who steals the scene as ymbryne Alma Peregrine, and Samuel L. Jackson, who takes on a comic yet creepy role as villain Barron, and some dark yet fantastic visuals, typical of the director's other films. I loved it!! I highly recommend it!!)

- Animais Fantásticos e Onde Habitam, dirigido por David Yates (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, directed by David Yates)

Um dos filmes mais esperados de 2016, Animais Fantásticos ressuscita a franquia Harry Potter, cujos livros foram escritos por J.K. Rowling, que escreveu o roteiro desse filme, e conta a história da magia nos Estados Unidos, 70 anos antes de Harry Potter. O filme possui atuações muito boas de Eddie Redmayne, que interpreta o ingênuo e excêntrico protagonista Newt, Katherine Waterston, que interpreta a ex-Auror Tina, e Alison Sudol, que interpreta a leitora de mentes Queenie, mas a melhor atuação desse filme foi a do Dan Fogler, que interpreta o aspirante a padeiro Jacob, roubando a cena e trazendo um sorriso aos rostos dos fãs de Harry Potter. O filme, ambientado em Nova York, possui visuais incríveis, com efeitos especiais, de fato, fantásticos, e uma fotografia de tirar o fôlego!! Adorei!! Super recomendo!!! A melhor adaptação literária do ano!!

(One of the most awaited movies of 2016, Fantastic Beasts resurrects the Harry Potter franchise, which books were written by J.K. Rowling, who has written the screenplay of this film, and tells the story of magic in the USA, 70 years before Harry Potter. The movie has really good performances from Eddie Redmayne, who plays naive and eccentric protagonist Newt, Katherine Waterston, who plays former Auror Tina, and Alison Sudol, who plays mind-reading Queenie, but the best performance in this film was Dan Fogler's as the aspiring baker Jacob, stealing the scene and bringing a smile to the faces of Harry Potter fans. The movie, placed in New York, has amazing visuals, with (indeed) fantastic special effects, and some breathtaking cinematography!! I loved it! I highly recommend it!! The best book-to-movie adaptation of the year!!)

O filme possui uma fotografia de tirar o fôlego, com florestas servindo de cenários, cenas tocantes e hilárias e atuações fortes de Viggo Mortensen e do elenco inteiro, especialmente o elenco mirim.
Pelos visuais, parece que "Capitão Fantástico" é um filme de Wes Anderson, por causa das cores vibrantes dos figurinos e cenários, e também pelo estilo de comédia que o filme possui, com um toque de drama e até romance.
Indicado a 1 Globo de Ouro (Melhor Ator em um Filme de Drama - Viggo Mortensen), "Capitão Fantástico" é um filme meio que filosófico e motivacional, um dos melhores filmes do ano, e um certo indicado às principais categorias dos Oscars do ano que vem!!

The movie is, indeed, fantastic. It mixes, in a perfect way, comedy and drama, thanks to an amazing original script written by director Matt Ross. The movie has some breathtaking pieces of cinematography, with some wild settings, touching and hilarious scenes, and strong performances from Viggo Mortensen and the entire cast, especially the child actors.
Visually, "Captain Fantastic" looks like a movie directed by Wes Anderson, due to the sets and costumes' bright and vibrant colors, and also because of the style of comedy that the movie possesses, with a touch of drama, and even romance.
Nominated for 1 Golden Globe (Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama - Viggo Mortensen), "Captain Fantastic" is a kind of philosophical and inspirational movie, one of the best films of the year, and a certain nominee in the main categories at next year's Oscars!!

Eu, particularmente, adoro tudo que o estúdio de animação Laika (responsável por Coraline e o Mundo Secreto, ParaNorman, Os Boxtrolls e A Noiva Cadáver, todos indicados ao Oscar de Melhor Filme de Animação) já fez e esse filme não é uma exceção. Assim como os outros projetos do estúdio, o filme é um espetáculo visual, com uma história mais que interessante, um tom sombrio, e um elenco estelar de vozes, com destaque para as atuações de Charlize Theron e Matthew McConaughey. Se inspirando na mitologia japonesa, Kubo é o filme mais "maduro" do estúdio, mexendo nas emoções do público e investindo mais no drama do que os filmes anteriores do estúdio, envolvendo temas como família e perda.
Indicado a 1 Globo de Ouro (Melhor Filme de Animação), Kubo e as Cordas Mágicas é o melhor filme de animação do ano, um dos melhores filmes de animação stop-motion que eu já vi, e um certo indicado ao Oscar!!

I, particularly, love everything that Laika (the animation studio responsible for Coraline, ParaNorman, The BoxTrolls and Tim Burton's Corpse Bride, all of them are Oscar-nominated movies, in the Best Animated Feature Film category) has ever done, and this one is no exception. Just like the studio's other projects, the film is a visual spectacle, with a more than interesting story, a darker tone, and a stellar voice cast, especially Charlize Theron's and Matthew McConaughey's performances. Inspired by Japanese mythology, Kubo is the most mature film made by the studio, investing in an emotional and dramatic tone, a little different from the studio's other films, involving themes like family and loss.
Nominated for 1 Golden Globe (Best Animated Feature Film), Kubo and the Two Strings is the best animated film of the year, one of the best stop-motion animated films I've ever seen, and a certain Oscar nominee!
