"O Gigante de Ferro" (The Iron Giant) é um filme de animação estadunidense de 1999 do gênero ficção-científica/drama/comédia dirigido por Brad Bird e estrelado pelas vozes de Eli Marienthal, Vin Diesel, Jennifer Aniston, Harry Connick Jr. e Christopher McDonald. O longa é baseado no livro "O Homem de Ferro" de Ted Hughes.
O filme conta a história de Hogarth Hughes (voz de Marienthal), um menino com imaginação fértil que vive com sua mãe (voz de Aniston), uma viúva. Hogarth encontra, à noite, um robô alienígena gigante (voz de Diesel), e quer ajudá-lo. Para os agentes do governo, incluindo o inquilino de sua casa, Kent Mansley (voz de McDonald), não capturarem o robô, Hogarth o leva para o ferro-velho de um artista, Dean McCoppin (voz de Connick Jr), onde acha que ficará seguro.
O filme, em si, usa dois tipos de animação: 2D e animação computadorizada. E essa mistura ficou genial. A história é linda. O filme é muito engraçado, tem algumas horas que é triste. As vozes ficaram muito boas, comparando com os personagens. Adorei esse filme. Do mesmo diretor de Os Incríveis, "O Gigante de Ferro" é lindo, engraçado, e aquecedor. Super recomendo esse filme para todos vocês!!!

"The Iron Giant" is a 1999 American animated science-fiction/comedy/drama film based on Ted Hughes' novel "The Iron Man". It is directed by Brad Bird and starred by the voices of Eli Marienthal, Vin Diesel, Jennifer Aniston, Harry Connick, Jr. and Christopher McDonald.
The film tells the story of Hogarth Hughes (voiced by Marienthal), a boy with an active imagination that lives with his mom (voiced by Aniston), a widow. Hogarth finds, at night, a fifty-foot metal-eating alien robot (voiced by Diesel), and he wants to keep them away of the government agents, including his house's renter, Kent Mansley (voiced by McDonald), so they can't capture it. So he takes the robot to a junkyard that belongs to a beatnik artist named Dean McCoppin (voiced by Connick, Jr.), where he thinks it will be safe.
The movie itself uses 2 kinds of animation: 2D or traditional animation, and computer animation or CGI. And the mixture of the 2 is simply genius. The story is beautiful. The movie is funny, and sometimes sad. The voices are very good, comparing to the characters. I loved this movie. From the same director of "The Incredibles", "The Iron Giant" is warm, funny and beautiful. I highly reccomend this movie for you guys!!
